along the right hand side of this blog are different music players. Normally I would only choose from one of them, but for demonstration purposes I specifically placed more than one in the sidebar. I decided to learn about / use the following three music applications:

-Pandora
-Last Fm
-Boomp3

Out of the three above, Last Fm is my favorite. The basic (free) version of Last Fm allows you to make a list of all the artists you enjoy and will then generate a play list with all of them. You do not have to upload any of your own music, Last Fm takes care of everything. Once you register, and set your preferences, you have the option to embed a link of your Last Fm station into your blog. I decided to use Blogger over word press, but both blog sites have similar ways of embedding links. Once Last Fm generates a code for your station list, simply copy the code and
paste it in the HTML/JavaScript gadget located by:

Customize-> Layout-> Page elements-> add a gadget-> scroll down and find...HTML/JavaScript, and then press save.

Pandora is quite similar to Last Fm. Pandora itself is a cool site. Here you have the option of creating your own station. To do this you must search for an artist, say Kanye West, and Pandora will generate a station for you incorporating Kanye West but also other artists that share / come close to a similar genre of music that Kanye does. Pandora ultimately creates a station with musicians similar to the ones you searched for. Pandora is also a free service but you must register to use it. To add Pandora to your blog:

go the Gadgets tab again-> and search in the search box for Pandora-> click on the Pandora App-> and you can play around with the auto play and size boxes but make sure you press save.

BooMp3 is my least favorite site but it is the most discrete (and simplest) of the three. Register on this site (it's free) and then you can upload as many songs as you want. These songs can come from either your own personal library or from links off the internet. Unlike Pandora and Last Fm, an application of BooMp3 will only play one song (even if you upload more than one). This does have its pluses though, especially if you are looking for something basic for when users visit your page. BooMp3 gives you the option of putting your uploaded song on repeat and/or auto play. Once you register on BooMp3 and have uploaded the desired music, simply:

click Post this Player to your blog-> after you click that, you will have the option to select auto start or repeat-> then just copy the code right below the boxes-> and return to your blog page-> add a gadget-> Paste and Save

^ i encourage you to check it out, even if the clips aren't to your liking the variety is impressive.*

Important READ first

first off, i uploaded more than one music gadget which is why you are probably hearing a bunch of different music at once. You can lower the volume in the blue Last Fm box or stop it all together. For some reason depending upon the computer, Pandora will sometimes automatically start playing music, if this is the case, just press pause. The BooMp3 links were just some random songs i uploaded off the internet and my i tunes. Hopefully, when you access the music gadgets off your computers, the gadgets will play successfully for you all... If not I suggest creating an account with the different music apps.

If you have questions about the players I chose or the layout of this blog, holler and I will try and answer them.
